The United Cannabis Business Association (UCBA) held its second annual Policy Summit on June 21, 2019 from 11AM – 6PM at The Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The event included mixers and panels for discussion on cannabis issues with regulators, legislators and operators from all levels and perspectives.
KVK founder Yelena Katchko moderated a panel dedicated to the California Supply Chain where she posed topics to Richard Parrott (Director of CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing, California Department of Food and Agriculture) and Rasha Salama (Branch Director of the Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch). Overwhelmingly, these leaders emphasized that they are working to ensure continued and timely licensure for operators in the industry.
We extend our warmest thank yous and appreciation to all involved including Mr. Parrott and Ms. Salama for opening up to the public and sharing their perspective on the current state of the industry. Special thanks for hosting this great event go to Ruben Honig, executive director of UCBA, Jessica Cure, director of marketing and events for UCBA, and Jerred Kiloh, President of UCBA and owner of The Higher Path, and all of the directors and sponsors!
Last but not least, thank you to the Bureau of Cannabis Control and to the Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation for the candid conversation and continued commitment to the industry!
