Stay at Home Order has been extended in Los Angeles County until May 15th, 2020

On April 10, 2020 the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health issued an extension to the previous Executive Order N-33-20, which ordered all residents to stay home, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of essential critical infrastructure sectors and additional sectors as the State Public Health Officer may designate as critical to protect health and well-being of all Californians. The revised order now mandates the “Safer at Home” Order is extended until May 15, 2020.

What is Different in The New Order?

The order highlights the continued need for Social Distancing, as defined in Section 14 of the Order. Social gatherings of any kind are still prohibited. All public gatherings are now prohibited and individuals are to remain at home except to travel to and from “Essential Businesses”.

Essential Business Must-Do’s

-Businesses must post a Social Distancing Protocol for the public and employees alike by April 15th at 11:59pm.

-Businesses must provide a Social Distancing Protocol to each employee performing work.

-Businesses must limit the amount of people in a facility to easily maintain a minimum six (6) foot distance between people.

-Lines/checkout areas must be demarcated in six (6) foot increments to maintain adequate Social Distancing.

-Businesses must provide hand sanitizer, soap and water or disinfectant near the entrance.

-Businesses must post signage instructing members of the public not to enter if experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness or fever.

-Businesses must regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces.

-Businesses must provide cloth face coverings to employees and contracted workers or reimburse for related expenses.

-Members of the public must wear a face covering whilst inside the facility.

-All public places that are Non-Essential are to remain closed.
